About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Fruit comes from Vigna Vecchia and Vigne Eucalipti at Gavorrano in the province of Grosseto. The vineyards stand at 90 m a.s.l.; the vines are 14 years old, trained to spurred cordon and planted at 5,900 plants per hectare. Yield is 55 q/ha. Merlot is harvested in late August, followed by Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon in mid-September. The wine page describes clay-rich, stony soils, while the technical sheet uses the broader description of medium-textured soil rich in stones.
Grapes
60% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot.
Vinification
Alcoholic fermentation lasts 15 days in temperature-controlled steel tanks at 27°C. Malolactic fermentation is completed.
Ageing
The wine matures for 14 months in barriques, 80% of them new, followed by 11 months in bottle.

The wine page classifies it as IGT Maremma Toscana, whereas the technical sheet gives Maremma Toscana DOC. First vintage: 2010. Formats comprise 0.75 L, 1.5 L, 3 L, 6 L, 9 L and 12 L.
Tasting profile
Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. The profile combines strength and intensity with elegance; soft tannins give the palate a rounded texture. Fruity aromas are accompanied by distinct spice, while the palate is deep yet lively and balanced.

This limited edition grew from a collaboration between Rocca di Frassinello—created through the partnership of Castellare di Castellina and Domaines Barons de Rothschild—and artist David LaChapelle, a former pupil of Andy Warhol.
