About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese comes from Rocca di Frassinello’s vineyards at Gavorrano in the province of Grosseto. The vines grow at 90 m a.s.l. in medium-textured, stony soil, with a planting density of 5,900 plants per hectare. They are trained to spurred cordon and yield 55 q/ha. Harvest takes place from late August into early September.
Grapes
100% Sangiovese.
Vinification
Brief contact between the free-run must and the skins produces a pale peach-petal pink colour. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, and malolactic fermentation is completed.
Ageing
The wine spends six months in steel before bottling, followed by two months in bottle.
Technical data
Maremma Toscana DOC. Available in 0.75 L bottles. First vintage: 2022.
