About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyard lies at 300 m on clay- and marl-rich soils. Abundant sunlight and good ventilation support reliable ripening.

Grapes

100% estate-grown, organically certified Sangiovese.

Vinification

Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts takes place in large Slavonian oak vats. The wine receives a three-day cold maceration at 12°C before fermentation, followed by 18–25 days of post-fermentation skin contact.

Ageing

Six months in wood is followed by six months in stainless steel. The introductory description separately refers to nine months in wood before bottling.

Technical data

Alcohol is 14.5%.

Tasting profile

The colour ranges from garnet to bright violet. Wild fruit, blackberry and currant shape the nose, balanced by fresh strawberry and dark floral tones. Bright, smooth and juicy on the palate, it has elegant, supple and well-structured tannins, an earthy Tuscan nuance and a long, terroir-driven finish.

Serving and pairing

Vegetarian pairings include roasted root vegetables, gnocchi with Gorgonzola and walnuts, lentil and porcini stew, and grilled eggplant. Traditional options include slow-cooked meats, roasted poultry, braised short ribs and pasta with a rich ragù. Its balance of fruit, flowers and moderate complexity suits both everyday drinking and substantial meals.
