About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Cortese is grown on hills near Gavi in the Province of Alessandria, not far from the Ligurian Sea. Marl and fossils characterize the soils and contribute to the wine’s mineral expression.

Grapes

100% Cortese, a white variety associated with the Alessandria area.

Vinification

The grapes undergo soft pressing, followed by fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature. The wine matures on noble lees before bottling.

Ageing

Refined in stainless-steel tanks and on noble lees.

Tasting profile

Citrus and floral aromas accompany prominent mineral sensations. The palate is balanced and well structured, with a long finish. Zesty nuances and the characteristic suggestion of bitter almond add definition.

Serving and pairing

Suitable as an aperitif and with sushi, grilled fish, shellfish, oysters, pasta, wildfowl and blue cheeses. Cellar life is 2–3 years.
