About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Barbera grows on the hills of Piedmont. The vines are tended by hand by a team that has worked in the vineyards for many years and knows the story of almost every plant. No chemical fertilizers are used.
Vinification
After sorting, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28–30 °C. The must macerates on the skins for 8 days, with daily pumping over.
Ageing
The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks to keep it tasting fresh.
Serving and pairing
A versatile wine that works with almost any dish, suited to everyday meals.
Label / history
The "Fratelli Levis" range is named after the brothers Antonio and Raimondo Levis, who founded their company in 1938. Their passion for Nebbiolo brought them to the Langhe. Guided by the philosophy of "quality at any cost", they worked toward wines of remarkable sensory quality. Those around them attributed this pursuit of perfection to the fact that both brothers, who were born with hearing impairments, used winemaking to express their creativity. After Raimondo died in 2002, Antonio entered into a partnership with the family-owned Sartirano company. Sartirano now owns the "Fratelli Levis" brand and continues to produce classic Italian wines under the name. The small Corte Lombardina winery is part of Sartirano Figli Cantine e Vigneti. Its wide range of traditional red and white wines includes Barolo, Barbaresco, Gavi, Barbera d'Asti and Dolcetto d'Alba.
