Label / history
The "Fratelli Levis" range is named after the brothers Antonio and Raimondo Levis, who founded their company in 1938. Their passion for Nebbiolo brought them to the Langhe area. Working to a philosophy of "quality at any cost", they aimed for wines with outstanding sensory qualities. Those around them linked this pursuit of perfection to the brothers' congenital hearing impairment, and saw winemaking as a way for them to express their creativity.
After Raimondo Levis died in 2002, Antonio entered into a partnership with the family-owned Sartirano company. Sartirano now owns the "Fratelli Levis" brand and continues to produce classic Italian wines under the name. The small Corte Lombardina winery is part of Sartirano Figli Cantine e Vigneti. It makes a wide range of traditional Italian red and white wines, including Barolo, Barbaresco, Gavi, Barbera d'Asti and Dolcetto d'Alba.
