About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The selected fruit comes from the company’s vineyards in Piedmont, at the foot of the Western Alps. Barbera grows there through hot, sunny summers, cold autumn winds and foggy winters.
Grapes
The wine is made from a selection of Barbera grapes.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified using a traditional red-wine method.

Pairs with cold cuts, pasta, kebabs, burgers and salads.
Vintage notes
The 2019 winter was long, with little rainfall, and spring arrived late. Heavy rain in April slowed the start of the growing season but replenished soil-water reserves. High June temperatures and ample groundwater then accelerated vine growth, requiring close attention to vine health.
The hottest period came in late June, followed by milder days interspersed with rain. A second heatwave in late July ended in strong thunderstorms. The remainder of summer was mild, with regular rainfall.
Harvest began around mid-September with white varieties, followed without interruption by Dolcetto, Barbera and finally Nebbiolo. Barbera achieved optimal phenolic ripeness, with slightly lower potential alcohol than in 2018 and brighter acidity.
