About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Pinot Blanc is grown in hillside vineyards at 450–550 m. The gravelly soils have a high calcium-carbonate content. A cool microclimate and pronounced day-to-night temperature changes distinguish the sites.
Grapes
Pinot Blanc.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place mainly in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of approximately 18°C. A small portion of the must is placed in large wooden casks. The young wine subsequently matures for several months on its fine lees.
Technical data
The vineyard yield is 75 hl/ha. The current wine page records 13.5% alcohol, total acidity of 6.3 g/l and residual sugar of 1.6 g/l. The 2025 technical sheet instead gives 13% alcohol, acidity of 6.4 g/l and residual sugar of 0.9 g/l.
Tasting profile
Straw yellow with green nuances. Fresh aromas recall apple and pear. The palate is crisp and zesty yet rounded, with finesse and harmonious acidity.
Serving and pairing
Serve lightly chilled at 10–12°C. It works as an aperitif and accompanies hors d'oeuvres, delicately flavoured starters, pasta, risotto, white meats, vegetarian dishes and fish. Cellaring potential is 2–3 years.
Label / history
Cora combines the Latin place names Cornelianum (Cornaiano) and Appianum (Appiano). The feminine name is intended to underline the wine's elegance.
