About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards are situated in the southeastern part of the Sella & Mosca estate, on iron-rich clay soils.
Grapes
The blend comprises 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and native Sardinian red grapes, usually Cannonau.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at peak ripeness and gently pressed. Each variety undergoes three days of cold maceration, followed by fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at 18–28 °C. The varieties are blended during the final stage of fermentation, after which the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in previously used French barriques and large barrels, followed by approximately three months in bottle.
Tasting profile
The wine has distinctive complexity, depth and structure.
Label / history
In the local Sardinian dialect, “Tanca Farra” means “iron-rich lands,” referring to the high iron content of the vineyard soils.
