About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from vineyards in the commune of Montalcino, situated at 300 m above sea level with a north-eastern exposure.

Vinification

The grapes are picked by hand and undergo cold pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation then continues on the skins for 15 days in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine matures for 12 months in used barrels, followed by additional bottle ageing.

Label / history

Tenute Silvio Nardi began in the mid-20th century, when Silvio Nardi acquired the Casale del Bosco estate in Montalcino. The estate released its first bottle eight years later. In 1990, his younger daughter, Emilia Nardi, succeeded him and initiated the restructuring of the vineyards and cellars as well as scientific research.
