About this wine
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vessels for 15 days at no more than 16–18 °C. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees in stainless-steel tanks for 4–5 months, followed by at least six months in bottle before release.
Label / history
Count Giuseppe created Nozze d’Oro for his wife, Franca, to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, with the dedication “…to my wife, with endless love.” Its favourable reception led to continued production in subsequent years.
The 2008 vintage was included among L’Espresso’s “Vini dell’Eccellenza” (“Best Wines”). The 2006 vintage won the prize for the best results at the sixth “Sicilia Terra di Vino” Wine Competition and received an honourable mention at the 15th International “Vini di Montagna” Competition. The 2005 vintage received an honourable mention from B.A.V.I., and the 2004 vintage received an honourable mention at the 25th Banco d’Assaggio dei Vini d’Italia. The 2001 vintage was “Recommended” at the Decanter World Wine Awards and received “2 Glasses” from Slow Food.
