About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Pianodario, one of four districts in which Tasca d'Almerita works. Situated between Montelaguardia and Randazzo, the site has an average elevation of 775 metres. The estate extends over approximately 7.91 hectares, including 3.8 hectares of terraced vineyards supported by dry-stone walls. Its soils derive from volcanic deposits formed between 15,000 and 4,000 years ago. The vines were planted in 2010.
Vinification
The must fermented for eight days at 25–30 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matured for 12 months in 25 hl Slavonian oak casks.
Vintage notes
In 2019, low temperatures persisted through late spring, accompanied by substantial rainfall. Temperatures increased in June and remained stable throughout the summer, while August brought ideal rainfall. The Nerello Mascalese ripened slowly, and excellent weather prevailed during the early-November harvest.
