About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Carricante comes from the Feudo area of Castiglione di Sicilia and the Salice area of Milo. Most of the fruit is grown on a terrace in Contrada Sciaranuova. The vineyards are situated at 600 m on Etna’s northern slope, on volcanic sedimentary soils formed during different periods.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place at cool temperatures in stainless-steel tanks, preserving mineral purity and sulfurous nuances.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for four months.
Tasting profile
Complex, refined and aromatic, with a lively character and elegant purity. Deep fruit flavours and smoky notes accompany bright, tingling acidity. The structure is linear and vertical, with mineral and sulfurous nuances.
