About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The selected fruit comes from the “Monte Fontana” vineyard on the hills of Pedemonte di Valpolicella and from the estate’s other vineyards in the heart of Valpolicella Classico.
Grapes
The wine uses selected grapes from all nine varieties in the blend.
Vinification
The grapes are dried under controlled temperature and humidity, losing 30–40% of their weight and thereby concentrating their sweetness and flavour.
Ageing
The wine ages for two years in oak barrels, followed by six months to one year in bottle.
Tasting profile
The bouquet is harmonious, layered and mature.
Label / history
Recioto is a historic wine of Valpolicella that has carried different names over the centuries. It was called Retico during the Roman Empire and later Acinatico by the Lombards.
