About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Poggetti at Massa Marittima. The vineyard has a south-western exposure and rich, slightly acidic clay soil. Yield is 9,000 kg/ha. The Poggetti Estate lies in the northern Tuscan Maremma, among hills approximately 7 km from the Tyrrhenian Sea. Its vines experience hot weather, long sunlight exposure and cool evenings; the coastal setting contributes salinity and minerality.
Grapes
100% Ansonica.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in mid-October. After pressing, the must is separated and clarified through static cold settling. Dry ice protects the must from oxidation throughout handling. Fermentation proceeds in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled 18°C for about 21 days.
Ageing
Following the first racking, the wine stays on its lees for up to 45 days before bottling.
Tasting profile
Pale yellow. Aromas combine apricot, almond and white flowers, with broader impressions of peach and Mediterranean scrub. The palate is full-bodied and silky, with honey and orange-peel notes, low acidity and a long finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16°C. Pair with fatty white fish, salmon or subtly flavoured dishes.
Label / history
First produced in 2019, AMOR takes its name from the combination of Ansonica and Morisfarms and expresses the family's affection for the variety.
