About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vines, averaging 20 years of age, grow in Entiklar at 280–310 m on south- and southeast-facing sites. The soils are chalky limestone gravel with glacial deposits, and the planting density is 7,000 vines per hectare. The wine is produced only in years when the vineyards yield an exceptional harvest.

Grapes

The blend comprises 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot.

Vinification

Fermentation takes place in steel tanks.

Ageing

Each variety matures separately in oak barrels for one year. After blending, the wine spends a further six months in oak barrels and one year in bottle.

Tasting profile

The wine is rich, distinctive, harmonious and elegant.

Label / history

The Linticlarus range takes its name from Castrum Linticlar, a fortress built by the Romans whose ruins stand on the winery’s land.
