About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The red grapes come from hillside vineyards in Cortaccia and valley-floor sites in Magrè, spanning 210–400 metres. Cortaccia contributes chalk-gravel moraine soils, while Magrè has sandy calcareous alluvial soils. The vineyard overview identifies south-to-southeast exposure for Entiklar and Margreider Leiten and valley-floor sites around Magreid, Punggl and Kurtinig. Plantings date from 1980 onward and are trained to pergola and Guyot systems at 3,500–7,000 vines per hectare. Yield is 55–70 hl/ha.

Grapes

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir; percentages are not specified.

Vinification

Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 18 °C.

Ageing

The wine ages on its fine lees in concrete vats for four months before bottling.

Technical data

2025 vintage. Alcohol: 12.5% vol. Acidity: 5.4 g/L. Residual sugar: 0.6 g/L. Ageing potential: up to 3 years.

Tasting profile

Soft pink in colour. The intense yet delicate bouquet combines strawberry, raspberry and red woodland berries with a touch of marzipan. The palate is savoury, fresh and mineral, with an enveloping, balanced and harmonious character. It is full in the mouth and finishes long.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 10–12 °C. Suitable as an aperitif and with starters, white meat or fish dishes.
