About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Penon, Hofstatt and Rain vineyards in Cortaccia and Penon, at elevations of 400–650 metres with an easterly exposure. The soils are described as Dolomitic, calcareous and sandy; the 2024 technical sheet more specifically identifies limestone gravel formed from moraine sediments. The oldest plantings date to 1977. Vines are trained to both trellis and pergola systems, with a planting density of 3,500–7,000 vines per hectare. Yield is 65–75 hl/ha.
Grapes
The 2024 blend comprises 80% Müller-Thurgau, 10% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Pinot Grigio and 5% Chardonnay.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18°C.
Ageing
The wine matures for four months on its fine lees in concrete tanks and remains there until bottling.
