About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow on limestone soils in the province of Taranto, Puglia, at 100–150 metres above sea level. The area lies close to both the Ionian and Adriatic seas. Summers are generally hot and dry, moderated by refreshing sea breezes, while winters are mild. The grapes ripen healthy, juicy and highly aromatic under abundant sunlight.
Vinification
The grapes undergo 24 hours of maceration before gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 14 °C. Malolactic fermentation is prevented to retain fresh acidity.
Tasting profile
Fresh, expressive and easy-drinking.
Label / history
The relatively new “12 e Mezzo” range was developed following research and tastings. Its name means “twelve and a half” in Italian and refers directly to the wines’ alcohol content. The range comprises this white wine, a Rosato, a Primitivo and a Negroamaro.
