About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from vineyards on the hills of Collio, near the Slovenian border. The elevated sites experience a wider difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures. The vines are over 60 years old.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine remains on its lees in stainless-steel tanks for six months, with frequent bâtonnage.
Tasting profile
Complex and deep, with balancing freshness and a lively character.
Label / history
Produced since 1964, the wine bears Villanova’s letter “V” rendered in a lace design. The motif links local winemaking with the traditional craft of Gorizia bobbin lace.
