About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on the slopes of Mount Vulture at 450–700 m above sea level, in fertile volcanic soils.
Vinification
The wine is made using a classic white-wine method and fermented in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
It remains in stainless-steel tanks and spends six months on the lees.
Serving and pairing
It can be served as an aperitif and paired with hearty appetisers, risotto, shellfish, fish dishes and white meat.
Label / history
In the Middle Ages, Lavello was known as “Labellum.” The town developed from the Roman settlement of Forentum, and its name derives from the Latin “labrum,” meaning “barrel.”
