About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Pinot Grigio grows in Colli Orientali del Friuli. The maritime influence of the Adriatic and cool Balkan winds let the grapes ripen slowly and evenly. This local microclimate preserves acidity and gives the crisp structure of the Volpe Pasini style.
Vinification
Fermentation is temperature-controlled in stainless steel tanks, which preserves the grape's pure character and highlights its natural freshness. The wine then spends a short time in neutral vessels.
Tasting profile
Fresh, mineral and crystal-clear, with light fruit notes, a dry mineral character and lively acidity. The texture is lively, the profile citrus and mineral, and the finish carries a lightly salty note that the text calls typical of eastern Friuli.
Serving and pairing
Suited to the warmer months and to outdoor seafood dinners.
Vintage notes
The description covers the 2024 vintage but gives no weather details for it.
Label / history
The Volpe Pasini estate lies in the heart of Colli Orientali del Friuli. It includes a manor house built in 1596 and other buildings around the villa. The estate covers more than 20 thousand square metres and also holds a park and a Ribolla vineyard. The first document mentioning wine production there dates to the seventeenth century. In 1970 the company began an intensive programme of studying and introducing new winemaking technologies, and researched international markets, particularly the USA and Germany. More than 50% of annual production is exported.
