About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from the Abruzzo Region. The vineyards have medium-textured clay soils and are trained using tendone and espalier systems. Harvest takes place in September.

Grapes

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.

Vinification

The grapes are destemmed and crushed, then undergo submerged-cap maceration. Temperature-controlled fermentation lasts approximately 15 days. The wine matures in stainless steel on its own lees until bottling.

Technical data

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC. Alcohol: 13% vol; this value may vary between vintages. Available formats: 0.375 L, 0.75 L, 1.5 L and 3 L. Recommended glass: tulip.

Tasting profile

Purple-red with deep violet reflections and fine consistency. Ripe red berries meet lively white-pepper spice on the nose. The palate echoes the aromas and offers good persistence, with harmonious, soft and balanced tannins.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 14–16°C. Pair with cold cuts and cured meats, pasta with meat sauces, vegetables or mushrooms, and pizzas with robust toppings.

Label / history

The Tralcetto line is recognised by the vine sprig attached by hand to the bottle neck. The twigs are collected following annual pruning in Abruzzo vineyards and represent the close relationship between wine and territory.
