About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Agro di Torre Santa Susanna on the Masseria Altemura estate, in the heart of Salento. The estate lies at an equal distance from the Ionian and Adriatic seas. Sea breezes and the local climate provide favourable growing conditions. Around 150 ha of the estate's approximately 300 ha are planted with vineyards.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at high ripeness and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in steel vats at a controlled temperature of 18–20 °C for 7–10 days.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees in stainless-steel tanks for 2–3 months, followed by further ageing in bottle.
Label / history
Masseria Altemura has belonged to the Zonin family since 2000.
