About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the Agro di Torre Santa Susanna in Salento. The Masseria Altemura estate lies at an equal distance from the Ionian and Adriatic seas, and sea breezes influence its mild climate. The estate covers about 300 ha, including 150 ha of vineyards.
Vinification
The grapes are gently crushed and macerated for about eight days before fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in oak barrels, followed by three months in bottle.
Tasting profile
The nose has notes of rose, strawberry jam and rosemary. The palate has a warm character and a pleasantly fresh finish.
Label / history
The Zonin family has owned the Masseria Altemura estate since 2000.
