Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Poggio Pelato, the historic name of a vineyard in Oltrepò Pavese. Its microclimate and soil structure allow the vines to thrive and emphasize their varietal character.

Label / history
Tenuta Il Bosco has belonged to the Zonin family since 1987. Its history reaches back to the Middle Ages, when Benedictine monks restored the neglected land and revived its vineyards. Written references to winegrowing in Oltrepò Pavese appear in works by Pliny and Strabo, who in 40 BC noted the region’s good wine, welcoming people and very large wooden barrels. Also known as Old Piedmont, the area became the birthplace of Italian sparkling-wine production at the end of the nineteenth century.
The estate had 30 ha of vineyards when the Zonin family acquired it. Following subsequent expansion and extensive investment, it now owns 152 ha of vineyards.
