About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards are in the heart of Salento, on an estate situated equidistant from the Ionian and Adriatic seas. The warm Mediterranean climate is refreshed by sea breezes, and the vines grow in red soils. Masseria Altemura covers approximately 300 ha, including 150 ha of vineyards.
Ageing
The wine matures for around 14 months in French oak barrels, followed by a further five months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Ripe, rich fruit character is joined by oak notes, with the two integrating smoothly.
Serving and pairing
Pair with rich, flavoursome dishes.

The Zonin family has owned Masseria Altemura since 2000.
