Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from Lombardy, with priority given to parcels around Monticelli Brusati and particular attention to the Baroncina vineyard.
Grapes
The blend is predominantly Chardonnay, complemented by Pinot Nero.
Vinification
For the 2020 vintage, healthy grapes were harvested by hand between the second week of August and the first week of September. Only juice from the first pressing was used, extracted in a vertical press with a maximum yield of 30%. Fermentation took place in steel tanks. No dosage was added.
Ageing
The wine spent nine months on its fine lees at low temperature. A small portion was placed in French oak barrels to add aromatic and flavour complexity. It then aged in bottle on the yeast lees for at least 30 months, developing depth while retaining freshness and minerality.
Tasting profile
Elegant and fine, with a pronounced fruit profile, freshness and increasing complexity over time. The 2020 vintage has an almost pastry-like quality, balanced by creamy bubbles and a long, expressive finish.
