Vineyard and terroir

The Arneis grows on sunny limestone hills in Langhe.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness; in 2024 the harvest ran from 10 to 20 September. Fermentation lasts 15 days at 18 °C in stainless steel tanks, to preserve as much of the grapes' fresh aroma as possible.

Ageing

The wine ages for 4 months in steel tanks, then at least 2 months in bottle before release.

Tasting profile

Delicate, elegant and fresh. The palate is lively, with a savory, slightly salty note. The style is well structured and beautifully balanced, with refined, appealing fruit.

Serving and pairing

Suited to fish, seafood, risotto and soft cheeses, and to serving as an aperitif. It can be drunk now or kept for up to 5 years.

Vintage notes

2024: harvest took place from 10 to 20 September.

Label / history

The wine is labelled "Cristina Ascheri". In Italian dialect, Arneis means "little rascal". The grape earned the nickname because it can be temperamental and difficult to care for.
