Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow at 310–370 m above sea level on southwest- and southeast-facing slopes. Soils are marl-clay and limestone. The vines were planted between 1973 and 2005.
Grapes
Barbera grown in Langhe makes up at least 85% of the blend. The remainder is a small proportion of other permitted red varieties.
Vinification
The 2024 harvest ran from 25 September to 5 October, when the grapes had reached peak ripeness. Vinification was traditional: the must fermented for around 10 days at a controlled temperature of 26 °C.
Ageing
The wine aged for several months in Slavonian oak barrels, which softened its character without losing Barbera's distinctive varietal qualities.
Tasting profile
Juicy, powerful yet elegant, with expressive ripe fruit flavours and berry aromas. Lively and rounded, with noticeable but well-balanced acidity and soft tannins. The finish is harmonious and long.
Serving and pairing
Pairs with pasta, grilled vegetables or aged Parmesan. It should be stored in a cool, dark place.
