Storia
Foundation
Baglio di Pianetto was founded in 1997 by Count Paolo Marzotto and his wife, Countess Florence. Driven by a passion to create a distinctive Sicilian wine that could stand alongside the finest French wines, Paolo devoted himself fully to making his dream a reality.
Today
Baglio di Pianetto is run by the third generation of the Marzotto family.
Terroir
The Pianetto estate lies in the municipality of Santa Cristina Gela and covers 88 ha, of which 61 ha are vineyards and 3 ha are olive groves. The Baroni estate lies in the municipality of Noto and covers 70 ha, of which 39 ha are vineyards and 3 ha are olive groves.
Vinificazione
Only natural fertilizers are used in the vineyards across both estates.
The winery combines traditional winemaking methods with innovative modern technology. Solar panels installed on the winery roof help reduce electricity use.
