Vineyard and terroir
The Morino vineyard lies in the heart of the Barolo production zone, near the Brunate and Cerequio crus. The limestone-rich soils and the distinctive microclimate of the area suit international grape varieties.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in early September, then destemmed and pressed. The must undergoes cold maceration for 48 hours, followed by gentle pressing and fermentation, partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in French oak barriques.
Ageing
The wine matures on its fine lees for several months, always in barriques. After bottling it rests for a while longer in the winery's cellars.
Label / history
First produced in 1990, the wine was created to reflect the Langhe's interest in growing international grape varieties. It offers a distinctly Piedmontese take on Chardonnay.
