Vineyard and terroir
The selected grapes come from Bisol's vineyards on the hills of Valdobbiadene, at 250 m altitude. The grapes are particularly rich in malic acid.
Grapes
Most of the vineyard area is planted with Prosecco, while Verdiso and Pinot Bianco together account for 10%.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested on 20 September, then undergo skin-contact cryomaceration overnight at very low temperature to emphasize varietal character and fruit aromas. The Charmat method is used: the first fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, followed by a second fermentation in sealed, chilled autoclaves. This tank-based second fermentation is required under Prosecco DOC regulations.
Tasting profile
Bold in character, with intense fruit aromas.
Label / history
The Jeio range takes its name from Desiderio Bisol, whom his wife called Jeio. He revived the family business after the First World War and contributed substantially to its growth and reputation. The family-owned winery traces its history to 1542.
