Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Vermentino comes from Tenuta della Sticcianese in Località Grillese, Grosseto. The vines are trained using the spurred-cordon system.
Grapes
100% Vermentino.
Vinification
The grapes are pressed after harvest, and the must undergoes white-wine fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. The technical specifications indicate a temperature of approximately 18°C, while the narrative description gives approximately 16°C.
Harvest timing is described in two ways: the technical specifications place it in the last week of August, whereas the narrative text says it takes place during the first ten days of September according to grape maturity.
Ageing
The wine matures in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for approximately six months before bottling.
Tasting profile
The technical description presents a straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections, an intense fruity and floral nose, and a fresh, finely balanced palate with a moderately savoury character.
The broader tasting narrative describes a bright yellow appearance with golden reflections, good minerality and pronounced freshness. Citrus aromas mingle with mineral notes and, in wetter or drier years, occasional almond nuances. The palate is harmonious, with fragrant ripe-fruit flavours and good acidity.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 6–8°C. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif and paired with appetisers as well as fish-based first and main courses.
