Label / history
The Germano Reale is the mallard, a migratory duck native to local freshwater wetlands such as marshes, ponds, lakes and rivers. Its annual migration symbolizes a difficult spiritual quest and the cycle of rebirth; in some older cultures it also represents immortality. Because the male accompanies the female during migration, encountering a pair of ducks is regarded as an auspicious sign of unity and loyalty within marriage.
