Middle Ages
The estate that is now home to Castelli Martinozzi produced olive oil as well as wine, and was also involved in silk farming and other agricultural crafts.
1892
The winery received a certificate at the provincial "Cesare Francalanci Martinozzi" competition in Siena, which it still keeps.
Present
Castelli Martinozzi is a family-run winery managed by Cesare Castelli, his daughter Cristina, and his grandson Federico. The winery is now based at Villa S.Restituta, one of the oldest estates in the region.
Terroir
The estate is located 10 km from Montalcino, on hills overlooking Val d'Orcia. The vineyards sit at 400–480 meters above sea level, on soils made up of minerals, limestone, and clay.
Vinificazione
The vines are grown using organic methods, without herbicides or pesticides.
The winery is based at Villa S.Restituta, one of the oldest estates in the region.
