Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown in the Berici Hills (Colli Berici), a series of ancient volcanic formations between Verona and Padua. The area has a very mild, sunny, Mediterranean-like climate and a history of grape growing extending over thousands of years. Most of Cielo e Terra’s wines are produced across approximately 4,000 ha of vineyards belonging to Gruppo Cantine Colli Berici. The winery participates with the group’s winemakers in a project to improve viticulture and production throughout the Berici Hills.

Label / history
Cielo e Terra was founded in 1908. Its name combines terra, the Italian word for “earth,” with Cielo, the founding family’s surname. Under Pietro Cielo, the company began expanding and improving production in 1930. New vineyards were established in 1962, increasing its output. The winery is now managed by fourth-generation brothers Luca and Pierpaolo Cielo, holds around 300 ha of land and forms part of Gruppo Cantine Colli Berici. Vineyard experience within the group has been passed down through generations.
