Label / history
- Cielo e Terra was founded in 1908. Its name combines terra, Italian for "earth", with Cielo, the surname of the founding family.
- In 1930 Pietro Cielo began expanding and improving production. New vineyards were established in 1962, which allowed output to increase.
- The winery is now run by the fourth-generation brothers Luca and Pierpaolo Cielo. It owns around 300 ha and is one of the largest producers in the Veneto.
- It belongs to Gruppo Cantine Colli Berici, one of Italy's largest winemaking groups, with around 4,000 ha of vineyards. Most of the company's wines are produced there.
- With support from the group's winemakers, Cielo e Terra takes part in a project to improve every stage of winegrowing and production in the Berici Hills, from vineyard to bottle.
- The Colli Berici are a chain of ancient volcanic formations between Verona and Padua. The climate is very mild and sunny, similar to the Mediterranean, and vines have grown there for thousands of years.
