Storia
Corteaura was founded out of a desire to create Franciacorta wines aiming for absolute perfection and careful attention to every detail. The winery's name combines two words: "Corte" and "aura." "Corte" refers to an essential part of Franciacorta's history and the origins of its name, dating back to the Middle Ages, when the lands of Franciacorta were managed by Benedictine and Cluniac monks and were exempt from taxes and duties, known as "curtes francae," or free courts. The second word, "aura," has older roots in Greek mythology, where Aura was a nymph, daughter of Periboea and Lelantos, who moved as swiftly as the wind and was said to give off a subtle field of light that surrounded and brought life to all living things.

Filosofia
The winery describes its aim as achieving absolute perfection and careful attention to every detail in creating its Franciacorta wines. Its founders liken their passion to a positive energy, or "aura."
