Storia
1958
Crissante Alessandria Azienda Agricola was founded in 1958, when Crissante Alessandria, the son of winemakers, and his wife Teresa decided to make wine from grapes grown in the family vineyards instead of continuing to sell their harvests to other well-known producers in the region.
Growth of the estate
Over the years, the business grew and acquired new vineyards in prestigious parts of La Morra.
The 1980s
The winery began vinifying the harvests from the "Capalot" and "Roggeri" vineyards separately.
2007
Separate vinification was extended to the "Galina" vineyard.
Cellar development
The wood used in the cellar was gradually renewed to achieve a balance between barriques, tonneaux, and traditional medium-sized casks.
Terroir
The estate is located in the commune of La Morra, in Piedmont, and its vineyards lie in what are described as prestigious parts of La Morra, including the "Capalot", "Roggeri" and "Galina" sites.
Vinificazione
The winery specializes in red wines made from the native Nebbiolo grape, alongside Dolcetto and Barbera. It produces Barolo, Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and a rosé made from Nebbiolo. Since the 1980s, the "Capalot" and "Roggeri" vineyards have been vinified separately, joined by "Galina" in 2007. The wood used in the cellar has been gradually renewed to achieve a balance between barriques, tonneaux, and traditional medium-sized casks.
Filosofia
The winery is described as known for its focus on quality, on ageing, and on expressing the unique character of the La Morra terroir.
