Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in the historic Badde Nigolosu vineyard in Sorso-Sennori, on vines that are 40 years old.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and destemmed. Spontaneous maceration and fermentation with natural yeasts take place in concrete tanks for 3–10 days. The wine is bottled without filtration or clarification, with no added sulfites.
Ageing
The wine rests in small cement vessels for about one year.
Tasting profile
Initially somewhat rough, it soon becomes generous. Its character is stern but not overly serious, combining strength with gentleness and noble manners.
Serving and pairing
Let the wine breathe before serving.
Label / history
Ottomarzo means “Eighth of March,” the birthday of Alessandro Dettori’s grandfather. Alessandro, the winery’s current owner, recalls him as grumpy but big-hearted; the wine’s stern yet generous character is presented as a reflection of his personality.
