Terroir
The estate lies in the heart of Chianti Classico DOCG, an area described as ideally suited to growing grapes. From the walls of San Donato Castle there are views across Tuscany's gentle hills, largely covered with vineyards, alongside olive groves. The local climate brings a marked difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures, which helps the grapes develop bright, expressive flavors. The soil provides excellent drainage.
Vinificazione
Vineyards are planted at a density of 5000 vines per hectare. The soil offers excellent drainage, and the marked difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures aids the grapes' development of bright, expressive flavors.
Wines are made following traditional winemaking practices in a recently built winery equipped with the latest technology, considered one of the most advanced in the region. Olive groves on the estate are also harvested to produce olive oil.
Filosofia
The estate describes its wines as built on "the soul of our land, the warmth of our sun, and traditional winemaking."
