Vineyard and terroir

The Syrah is grown at around 110 metres above sea level in limestone soil with chalk deposits. These conditions support ripening while preserving freshness and sweetness in the grapes.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. The bunches are selected, with handling intended to minimise mechanical damage. After pressing, the wine undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation with skin maceration.

Ageing

The wine matures in new oak barrels for 20–24 months, softening the tannins and developing complex aromas and elegant woody notes.

Tasting profile

Refined, with subtle mineral notes, complex aromas, elegant woody notes, softened tannins and a well-defined structure.

Label / history

Its motto is “Niente da niente” (“Nothing comes from nothing”). Fossi designs an individual label for each wine, using sayings, quotations and aphorisms that reflect its history and character.
