Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards have east/southwest exposure.

Grapes

The 2019 blend comprises 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 25% Syrah.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand with careful bunch selection and undergo a further selection at the winery. Each variety is vinified separately. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature with indigenous yeasts, followed by 25–28 days of maceration.

Ageing

The wine matures for at least 18 months in French-oak barriques, of which 60% are second-use and 40% are new. Bottle maturation lasts a minimum of another 18 months before release.

Technical data

Bolgheri Superiore DOC. The published vintage is 2019, with 14.5% alcohol. Contains sulfites. Ageing capacity exceeds 20 years.

Tasting profile

Deep red with a black-violet hue. The clean, concentrated nose shows ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and black plum with a light suggestion of toasted oak. The palate is intense, harmonious, richly flavoured and concentrated. Generous, well-integrated tannins support its elegance, freshness and length. The shorter cellar description additionally highlights ripe red fruit, a woody undertone, deep structure and a long, complex finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 20°C. Pair with substantial main courses, grilled meats, game or long-aged cheeses.
