Vineyard and terroir
The Catarratto is grown at Grisì in Monreale, Sicily, on clay soils, with an average yield of 85 quintals/ha. Feudo Disisa’s approximately 150 ha of vineyards extend across nine microzones with differing exposures, slopes and elevations. Temperature variation, abundant sunshine and good airflow create distinct microclimates.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 15–16 °C.
Ageing
The wine matures in stainless-steel tanks for eight months, followed by at least 60 days in the estate’s cellars after bottling.
Tasting profile
Fresh and lively.
Label / history
The name “Lu Bancu” comes from the popular legend of “Lu Bancu di Disisa,” a mysterious treasure believed to be hidden in a cave on the Feudo Disisa estate but never found. The legend inspired the Di Lorenzo family to name the three wines in the Tesori range.
