Vineyard and terroir
The Vuaria vineyard lies near Feudo Disisa. Its Nero d’Avola vines grow on clay soils and yield an average of 60 quintals per hectare. Feudo Disisa’s approximately 150 ha of vineyards are divided among nine microzones with differing exposures, slopes and altitudes. Temperature variation, plentiful sunshine and good airflow create distinct microclimates.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place at a controlled 25–27 °C, followed by 18 days of maceration. Malolactic fermentation is completed in steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in French barriques, then rests in the winery’s cellars for at least one year after bottling.
Label / history
Vuaria takes its name from the vineyard where it originates. It belongs to Feudo Disisa’s Cru line, created by the Di Lorenzo family and comprising five wines produced in small quantities.
