Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Tornamira vineyard near Feudo Disisa. The Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines grow in clay soils, with an average yield of 60 quintals/ha. The estate’s approximately 150 ha of vineyards are divided among nine microzones with differing exposures, slopes and elevations. Temperature variation, abundant sunshine and good ventilation create a range of microclimates.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimum ripeness and selected before fermentation. Fermentation takes place at a controlled 25–27 °C, followed by 10 days of maceration. Malolactic fermentation is completed in steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures in French barriques for 18 months, followed by at least one year in bottle in the winery’s cellars.
Label / history
The wine takes its name from the Tornamira vineyard near Feudo Disisa.
