Storia
1930s\nThe old vineyards of Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave now tended by the estate were planted as far back as the 1930s.\n\n### 2007\nFilippi became the first producer in Soave to receive organic certification.\n\nThe estate is also certified biodynamic by Demeter, the European standards body.
Terroir
The estate lies in Soave's highest-elevation terroir, in the municipality of Castelcerino, at 400 metres above sea level. It is a secluded property surrounded by wild woodland, whose rich biodiversity is central to the estate's biodynamic philosophy. Technically, the estate lies just outside the boundaries of the Soave Classico zone and falls within the Soave Colli Scaligeri DOC. Vineyard plots are divided according to soil type: the "Castelcerino" plot has basalt and black volcanic rock; "Vigna della Bra" has more clay, along with basalt and limestone; and "Monteseroni" stands out for its chalk-rich limestone soils.
Vinificazione
Filippo Filippi tends old vineyards of Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave, some planted as far back as the 1930s, using organic methods. The roughly 16 ha of vineyards are divided into individual plots according to soil type. In 2007, Filippi became the first producer in Soave to receive organic certification, and the estate is also certified biodynamic by Demeter, the European standards body.
Filosofia
Filippi holds that the rich biodiversity of the wild woodland surrounding its secluded vineyards is central to its biodynamic philosophy.
