Vineyard and terroir
The Freisa comes from a 0.35 ha vineyard in the municipality of La Morra. The family acquired this historic site in 1969. The lower section planted to Freisa lies at approximately 200 m and faces south-east. Sandstone and calcareous conglomerates—the origin of the name “Rocche”—provide effective water drainage. The vines were planted in 2020.
Grapes
100% Freisa.
Vinification
The grapes undergo five days of maceration in stainless-steel vats. Once the skins have been separated to preserve freshness, fermentation continues for a further 10 days.
Ageing
The young wine matures for approximately six months in 1,000 L Slavonian oak casks, allowing the tannins to become more harmonious.
