Storia
18th century
The Venetian Fuligni family settled in Tuscany. Grand Duke Peter Leopold I, in recognition of his loyal service, granted Luigi Fuligni extensive landholdings in Maremma and entrusted him with developing the local land.
Beginning of 1900
Luigi Fuligni's descendant, Giovanni Maria Fuligni, moved to Montalcino and began making wine following his family's traditional recipes.
Today
Maria Flora Fuligni manages the estate and its 100 hectares of vineyards.
Terroir
The estate is located in Montalcino, Tuscany, on land connected to holdings originally granted to the family in Maremma before Giovanni Maria Fuligni moved to Montalcino to make wine.
Vinificazione
The Fuligni family describes its work as continually improving its growing and ageing methods over the past century, building on the cultural heritage of generations of winegrowers who work the land.
The company's approach centers on generations of winegrowers working the land to create their finest wines, continuing to improve growing and ageing methods, as the Fuligni family has done over the past century.
Filosofia
The family holds that terroir is the essence of great wine — the cultural heritage of generations of winegrowers who work the land, create their finest wines, and continue to improve their growing and ageing methods, as the Fuligni family has done over the past century. It considers the combined influence of the land, climate, and culture to be what gives the wines made here their distinctive character across time and through every century.
